dura-valenti Sad to see it leave here. As a usual poster who hasn't in a couple months, I am just to blame for others to the death of this idea. This forum as a whole has seen a decline since the Facebook groups have become more popular.

mizterwizard ROTM has been a fun thing for many of us. It's sad to see it go but that's life. I am just glad for what we had and look forward to the next fun thing. Maybe it will be here. Maybe somewhere else. It won't be on FB though. There are too many basic problems there.

It is the stated policy on FB to not control anything. If you want to post that the Pope is a transsexual from Proxima Centauri, complete with Photoshopped pictures, you will gain a following and suddenly there will be all kinds of proof that our world is being run by _Pick a perversion__. FB is used to promote all kinds of agendas and most of its users are gullible enough to fall for all of it. You can fool most of the people all of the time. FB is the proof.

Family mostly, I think.
We all have a personal life, priorities change, rides change/trade, work/careers,....
...or boredom sets in.

But the lack of participation, it can also be a seasonal thing too. Spring is ending, Summer's upon us, school is wrapping up, Grad events on every level, time to change houses, get ready for a vacation, etc.

Now look back at Dec - Feb, people are bored, stuck inside and you get over 3k views of the thread...from Members. And that's not counting the Guests thru various search engines.

ROTM is how I found out about Dmax Store.

And also on the Vendor's end too, with keeping up with the prizes and gifting.
(there was a fallout once, when winners started to question tardy prizes, anger ensued and the sponsor left in a huff).

Sure, it sounds exciting in taking on the task, week in and week out....but personal lives have their ups/downs and it doesn't take much to suddenly be days or weeks behind...still voting on a poll while you're halfway thru the next month.

And trying to catch up with a calendar that's always chasing and looking to win out...gets old.
I wish I had more answers (perhaps the topic was just too morbid for some folks?)....but we've been at this point in the discussion in the past. Had the initiative to take on the full task on their own not happened, it would've been dead long ago.

Exactly. Nobody realizes how much time and effort goes into keeping up with this.

That being said, itís understandable that Dmax store wants to move to Facebook, because thatís where all the action is, and they are in it to drive traffic to their website/store. Thereís way more interaction there, but for me itís never been worth my time weeding through all the junk/crap/personal opinions/patting your own back/fighting about stupid stuff/I could go on and on, just to find the good stuff. Itís more of a place to hang out and BS ( think Russí build thread, only much bigger [emoji23]), with actual good information mixed in here and there. But trying to search and find that information is next to impossible, if you lose it in your feed. It disappears downstream in the unknown abyss. To me, the forums are much more informative, and you can actually get help from somebody that knows what theyíre talking about on a more personal level.

OK, rant over.
