Wouldn't make any sense to remove the DPF and purchase custom tuning and not have EGR turned off in the tuning. Do you have any idea who did the tuning?

I'm assuming that your idle is about 700. If so, there is something going on with the MAF. Check the 5V reference and ground, and if OK, then clean the MAF sensor, much cheaper than replacing it....

Why don't you get a wiring diagram(s) for your truck and see what circuits are required to power your mirrors? Then you can test to see where the failure point is.
