Silverado Steering Rattle / Clunk.....

This has been covered a bunch of times before so I wont get too into the details.. but this is the best $16 I've ever spent!!

I've been putting up with the death rattle on my LLY for the last 100k miles, but today was the day!!!

About the only thing I have to add is the indexing lug on the new green one.

The white and green bushing dont look very muck alike, so I didnt know how to position it....

Look at the white one, and you will see this lug(Where the red arrow is pointing). The green one will have one too. There is a cutout in the steering column for this lug to insert into... and bingo, drive it in and you're done!

Actually, the 16 year old kid who lives on my street is done. He does all my "heavy lifting" if I fill up his truck. (Squeezing under the dash would kill me!)

The rattle? GONE!!!!!!

A little. It came 90% of the way out easy.... then it was a bitch right at the end.

The new one was the exact opposite. Easy at first, and the last 10% was hard.

We finally used a big box end wrench like a hammer / tomahawk to drive it the last 1/4".....
