      I am looking for a DFCM for a 2012 express 3500. There are a few links online that are all out of stock. wondering if anyone has a working one laying around.

      can I replace this prime pump with a after market lift pump?
      If I do that, what do I do with the return lines from the DFCM

      Did you figure out your power issue first ? If there is no power to the pump replacing it will do you no good. Have you removed the old pump and bench tested it ?
      
      If the pump is actually bad you can replace just it. One affordable option would be a Spectra SP114 but I am not sure of quality and how long it would last.
      
      I would leave the DFCM in place and have it function as normal but adding a Kennedy lift pump before it would be a good addition.
