Annybody else having issues with their new Sierra? Ive had a new transmission and catalytic converter at 8k miles. Now new egr valves at 12k miles....am I alone with these issues, or are there more out there?

New to me 18 L5P. When engaging my truck in fast idle does the egr close? From the upper Midwest with cold winters so would like to allow my truck to idle a little bit without recirculating the crud.
