Just bought this truck. Ran good. Alternator went out 10 miles down road. Put new alternator in it. Jumped off and it ran great home. Even crunk back up. Came out in morning to it being completely drained. Put 2 new batteries in it crunk right up. Then again completely dead next morning. Jumped it off. Drove to the shop to do parasitic draw test and check with multi-meter. After testing fuses wouldn’t start at all. Tries cranking but acting like it’s not getting fuel. Driver window went down as soon as we put key in and will not roll back up. All other windows and locks have power. We’ve primed fuel system ect. Lb7,fass fuel system. Efi live tuning on 5 position knob. Picks up a big power draw when hooking jumper cables or even hooking terminals back up to battery. No start at all. We’re stuck. All fuses and relays appear good. Any help would be appreciated drove good to the shop ones jumping off.

What would happen if you unhook the alternator? Then check to see if you still have a power draw. Sounds like something grounding out.

We tried that. Unhooked alternator everything still the same. Huge power draw. No start

Start pulling fuses to isolate the draw.

Is there anyway of having the intake heater and the alternator wire crossed up?

Not easily. Detach both of them and see what happens. Protect both bare cable ends from shorting after detaching.

If was me i would unhook both battery's and load test them. mite have a bad battery.

I’ve test both batteries. Both hold charge and did fine on load test.

Will double check to make sure but it had huge draw even before we changed alternator and battery.

10-4 we will try this. I know it started smoking the multimeter and turning probs purple while checking fuses

Ok we are getting more information. Problem existed before the parts you changed and the meter turning blue. Unhook batteries and then starter cable. Then hook batteries back up to check for possible short and draw.

Found huge power draw. It was from a melted relay harness for glow plugs . Doesn’t arc at all with it in hooked. Still no start tho and driver window want go up. Fass fuel system is coming on and is primed

Now need to check fuse box again to see if the required fuses have power going to the fuse itself.

Thanks for all the help. Got the trunk crunk. Ended up being a melted glow plug relay on the power draw. And bad ignition keeping constant power to everything
