I have a 2004 3500 with a shit load of work. First it's a ca truck. 2nd we really don't know much about these. Here's what we did. We bought it cheap with a dead motor. We bought another one, put head gasket and arps in it. Put it in the truck. Bunch of codes came on. Sent it to a shop in vegas. They put transmission computers both, glow plug module, air heater sensor( its 120 in vegas), ecm, rebuilt the fuel filter unit. By this point weak at the knees. What is still on.. glow plug code and the air heater code. Then we read something about different heads in the 2nd motor. Could that be why those 2 codes are still on? Is there something that can be done to the ecm to fix this pos. We replaced the ecm at the shops request. It didn't change doodly squat

Did you for sure use the correct version motor? 2004 is split year with earlier ones being the original LB7 and the later ones having the LLY. Not sure how much difference there will be computer wise since I’m more familiar with the LBZ and newer. The LLY has different injectors vs. the LB7 so would think computer would be different.
