My 06 2500HD started bouncing, at first it felt like the typical frame beaming, but weight in the bed doesn't effect it. It only happens between 40-50 mph being the worst at 45. It happens while accelerating and decelerating and I have narrowed it down to the front end. All front suspension and steering components have been replaced, including pads, rotors, and shocks. The torsion keys were almost maxed out (maybe 2 threads left) but have since been lowered to stock height. Tires have been balanced and rotated by 3 different shops and it has been aligned since having front end rebuilt. I am running 285/75/r16 Hankook Dynapros on stock rims. No other major mods. I am at a loss as to what could be the cause.

my brother went thru what you did and it ended up being a bent rim, you would think tire guys balancing it would see but not necessarily so. try taking one off the rear and putting it on front see if that stops it?

I am planning to get a new set of tires in the next couple of weeks and will get those mounted on a new set of rims. Hoping that will help but after multiple tire rotations with no change, I'm not optimistic. Thanks for the idea!

Will be getting new tires soon, hoping thats the fix, but after multiple tire rotations and the shake not moving with the tires, I don't think that is the issue.

Sounds like you need to drive either 35 or 60. My thought would have been steering components. I know you said the front end has been rebuilt, and I assume you've checked to be sure everything is tight and you don't have a bad component out of the box?

If it's frame beaming, there is a body mount that's supposed to fix it. I think you just do the two at the back of the cab. I haven't used them so I can't personally speak about the effectiveness.

Yes all parts were checked before install and everything is tight, I guess with the torsion keys being nearly maxed out at the time of rebuild steering components could be worn out again already? I would assume it would take at least a couple months to wear them out though.

Not frame beaming unfortunately, there is no change with weight in the bed and it almost gets worse when I haul my 7k lb gooseneck trailer.

285's are 2 sizes too large for your stock rims. Good thing you ae getting new tires and I hope the new rims have enough width for your new tires.

Check the U Joints and/or the center driveshaft carrier bearing.

When I took my '07 back to the dealership for a similar vibration a few weeks after I got it new, I wanted the tires balanced. It had a vibration come in about 45 then get better a little over 50. They went ahead and re-balanced the tires but told me up front they did not think it would help. Before he ever touched it, the mechanic said it's the G80 rearend, they all do it. He was right, the tire balance didn't help. About a year later, I replaced the tires. That didn't help either. On the next set of tires, I had balance beads put in the tires, problem solved.

That was a single wheel truck. I have a dually now and didn't feel like the beads worked as well on it so I run Centramatics on the rear of it now. They should last the life of the truck.

I run Centramatics all around my dually. I ran them on my peterbuilt and trailers for over a million miles with no problems. They definitely do what they say. Absolutely saved a ton of money on tires.
