Went to start my 06 3500HD Diesel and engine light came on. Truck shifted hard and at high rpm' s and couldn't go over 70kmh. Scanned it when I got home and threw an 0700 tranny code. Brought it to the dealer and guess what they determined the problem to be?
Block heater!! I had replaced a portion of the cord when the wires broke with a section of an extension cord, and that caused the problem. Apparently the male end of the block heater cord has a built in thermostat and when it went it threw 2 codes which put the tranny into limp mode. It was a simple fix thankfully.
Just thought I would share my experience with you so if you need to replace your heater cord get the one from GM to save you the g
Hassle I had
