Last night while driving the dash gauges stopped working.The lights for the dash quit.Within a min or two the engine shut off.The battery's were all but completely dead.Tried to jump start and the bat had what seemed to be a short.Today went and had a few minutes only to look.But it jumped off,ran for a few mins.then same scenario.All lights,instruments,and engine shut off,battery got a short again.Its not a dead short,no wires are getting hot,melting.But it kills the batteries.Does anyone have a diagram of the wires coming from the starter switch.Pretty sure thats where my problem is.Cant get a new one for 3 days,and where it is having to pay storage.So want to basically hot wire it just to get it home.Its a 1993 with a cat 3116 engine.

Well after a long day of crawling around wires,looking for schematics,and asking questions.Found out the problem.A faulty switch on the lift gate.The PO had bypassed the circut breaker for the gate,and it shorted out,,,,
