I had a friend tell me about putting 2 stroke oil in your fuel for added lubrication, since when they went to Low Sulfur fuel took out some of the lubrications from the regular sulfur fuel. So after reading thread after thread about this idea I decided to give it a shot. I went from 16mpg to 17 to 17.5 instantly (I have the average fuel economy display) and my engine got a lot quiter. So If you havent done this I highly recommend. I have a 06 LBZ. and I used 16 oz per tank. Some say use 1 oz to the gallon, but it is just easier to use half of a quart so that way the next fill up you still have 16 oz to put back in it.

Couldn't agree more.I use it every fill up.Just make sure the letters tc-w3 are on the front, its an ashless oil and won't gum stuff up.I used the skidoo synthetic stuff at fist and I loved that now I use the tech stuff from Wallmart and it works the same just cost a lot less.

I also use it-- My smog man could not believe how quiet my truck was when he checked ity-- said he was seeing a lot of Ford trucks-!

The LB7 is known to have injector issues, so be sure you change the fuel filter changed on a regular schedule.

I use 2 cycle and believe it makes the engine quieter, and helps lube the injection system.

Probably not a good idea to use it on a vehicle with a DPF, because it may restrict the DPF and go to Regeneration more often.

Diesel Kleen dropped my MPG down 5

GM recommends stanadyne. Its one of the best performing lubricity additives available. Plus it only takes a few ounces to treat a whole tank. I haven't done the math but I don't think the cost is much different between the two when used in the proper amounts.

I've heard of enough folks saying how shitty the inside of their motor looked upon teardown after running 2 stroke oil to make me not run it. Stanadyne or diesel kleen is cheap and effective.

I just started using 2cycle in my truck what a difference quiet it down and get little bit better on mpgs. Then run a cleaner in the next tank.

I am using up the last of my Diesel Kleen and then going to switch over the Walmart 2 cycle oil. From everything I have read, this should be the best thing for the ol girl. Very interested to see if the motor quiets down a bit and if I gain any mpg's.

I hadn't run additive since last year and this summer I got the injector rattle and missing at times. It got really bad.

I've been running injector cleaner every fillup along with 6 oz of synthetic 2-stroke. I bought a Edge Insight CTS to monitor the balance rates and they are all look good now. I still have one injector that will go 2.0 - 2.5 at times which I will replace. I also dumped the Rotella T6 and went to Delo 400. Between the injectors getting clean and the Delo 400, my engine is really quiet and smooth now.

I've been driving 39 miles each way to a job lately and getting 21.7 to 22 on the highway.

Needless to say, I'm pretty damn happy now.

Yes, use it.

Also, please PM me what happened, I'm curious. I hear/read occasional Amsoil bashing but I'd like to know what happened that made you not want to use it...thanks

i would never run 2 stroke oil in my truck, i was working on an lly a few weeks ago and had to replace 2 injectors, the tips were plugged with a blackish gunk, asked the owner if he ran any additives and said 2 stroke oil, ended up replacing all 8, IMO its a bad idea but yall will do what you want cuz its your truck

I've heard yes and once I started asking around it was a def. NO... don't remember exactly why, but it would have ended up doing more harm than good. I'd stick to what's proven and all these other guys use, like mostly a good additive that's designed to be a good additive... not a make-do home remedy..

Never used 2 stroke but I pour in a quart of ATF every other tank or two. it cleans and lubricates everything, and I get about 1 mpg gain due to the fact of it being full of detergents. I used to due this in my semi but 2 quarts every other fill up.

07' LBZ, PPE standard tuner, 4" Diamond Eye,no kitty, muff delete, 3" ProFab down pipe,S&B cold air, limo tint, 285/75/16's, 22's in powder coat coming soon with 305/40/22 Cooper xeon ltz's

I've had great luck with wal-mart cheapo tcw-3 2 Stroke oil.

I run 1 once per gallon and it has improved fuel mileage about 1.5-2 MPG. The truck also has noticeably less injector noise.
