I have been searching for information on doing a front end swap on my 2002HD diesel and cant find any information.

I have a beat up 2002HD with deer damage to the front. I was wondering if any of you know if a 2004 1500 would be an suitable swap to replace the hood fenders bumper and such on the front of the diesel? The donor truck I am looking at has a good body so I would also be using the extended cab doors, bed and tailgate as well as the rear bumper.

Best I can tell by doing research it should work? not sure if I would have to use the 1500 core support as part of the swap.

We have a good shop and are handy enough to tackle a job like this. I just want to make sure I am heading down a path that will work.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If it's a Chevy as long as the front ends are the same style they are mostly swappable. Core support in 2500 are taller so it needs to be reused. Along with all the 2500 radiator and condenser. The top cap on the bumper are taller on 2500s. Then I know At least the side brackets for the bumper are different. The head light mount panels are different.
The good is the hood, bumper, lower valence, fenders, headlights, marker lights, grill, doors, tail lights, and tailgate are same. The rear bumper has taller mount brackets on a 2500 but the chome is the same.
If not same body style, you could as long as you swapped all front panels. But not sure on what all is changed.
