If you are 100% sure that the noise is the torsion bar clunking in the lower control arm, make sure that the rubber bushings are good and not split or cracked. If they are bad it could allow the control arm to rotate slightly and cause the torsion bar to thunk in the socket.

Also did you loosen the torsion bars when you lowered it? In other word are the torsion bars under tensioned?

I also attached a tsb for clunking while turning or driving on uneven ground.

Sounds like you are very sure it's the torsion bars making the noise. Now, what are you going to do to fix it?
I guess thats my question.

What are the causes of something like this? I don't want to throw 260$ a torsion bar out for new ones, not sure if a junkyard set would fix the problem. Not sure if new ones would fix the problem.

I turned to the internet as none of the normal fixed seem to remedy the problem. I've got all kinds of advice...including putting grease on the ends of the torsion bars(other forum). Nothing has really helped or got me pointed in the right direction.

No, the torsion bars are set to factory height. With 245/75/16s @ 50 PSI, from front fender to the ground is 38.5" Stock height.

Torsion key bolts are about 10 turns or so from being maxed out. Had the alignment shop set it the last time.

For what its worth, with the keys cranked up to 40" ride height, it still pops, makes 0 difference.

Well, crap.........Ever get it figured out. I'm curious because with my luck I'll be going through the same thing you are eventually. Kinda did already but the torsion bar mounts helped my noise out. Good luck and keep up posted.

I'll let you know if I find it. No luck so far, tired of throwing money at it.
