I put this in the wrong forum so I'm moving it over here...

Just passed the 3 year mark and a whopping 18k miles (I really just go to the marina or hunting in it) and I'm finally lifting it next Monday. Pela Motorsports in Jupiter, FL will be doing it. Thought I'd get some pre-surgery pics out first! I actually deleted everything first, 2 years ago, so clearly I have my priorities straight! LOL.

Stage 1: (PELA) Intake, Intercooler pipe, Diamond Eye Downpipe, Resonator Delete, MBRP downpipe back, H&S, Edge CTS, Airdog II 165. That was a fun stage!

Stage 2: (SELF) All the lights. Spyder CCFL HID LED Halo's and Spyder Rear, love them. Replaced the old amber cab and 3rd brake with white Recon's ,blacked out instead of clear. All interior lights, fog light bulbs white LED and added the 24" CREE LED light bar in the tranny cooler cutout. It was tight but I made it work. No heating issues yet but it hasn't been summer in S. Florida yet so we'll see. Running about 140 degrees HWY and 165 degrees city

Stage 3: (PELA) Cognito 4-6 NTBD, American Force Judge 20x10's and Toyo M/T 35x12.50's. I had Bushwacker Boss flares color matched as well and we'll see how the stance looks. I may put those on as well. Also, replacing the 4" MRBP with a 5" Flo-Pro as well while she's in the shop. I'll post more pics when this is done next week!

More pics...

The only thing I'm not 100% sure I love are the rear lights. The rest are awesome. I'm almost wondering if the rear in black would look good like the 3rd brake light in black and the cab lights in black. There's so much chrome on the front/grill area and even sides b/c of the handles and steps that I like the front lights but the black lights in areas where there is no chrome, like the rear might actually look better. Since the rear bumper is color matched and black IDK...maybe but that's a small and cheap fix compared to everything else!

Surgery is complete! New Smoke Black Recon Taillights should be here Monday. Getting rid of the Mexican chrome ones! Escort 9500ix with mirror tap goes in next and then I'm going to enjoy it a while. I have paint matched Boss fender flares done already as well but not sure I'm putting them on or not. We'll see

looks great.... good call on the smoked tail lights, they'll look much better then the previous ones currently do. I'm not a chrome fan at all, but your chrome front end and the headlights you've used compliment each other nicely. For the sides, if you debadged?demolded it and had the handles color matched i think it would really set this truck off. Leave the running boards chrome as they compliment your forces and flowly nicely together. Beautifuly done thats a killer rig built with some quality pieces

Thanks 8 lug and Crossfire. I went with the stage 2 tow package which has a 3 inch block. I want to keep my rear rake close to stock but a little less. For one I tow a large boat sometimes but I'm also not a huge fan of leveling. It's just my preference. It currently sits about 3/4 inch higher I'm told but I'll measure today. Got it back late yesterday.

It rides good but I hear a lot of people say it's better than stock. I don't know about that. It doesn't feel as stable but thats likely just bc the center of gravity is so much higher. Speed bumps or tables feel better but in general it doesn't feel a lot softer as I've heard others mention. The tires are pretty loud but compared to the stock street goodyears thats expected. Not sure if they break in at all after some miles. I'm sure it all just takes some getting used to though and after a week or two I'll forget what stock even felt like. I remember when i went from my tundra to the duramaxx. I thought holy shit this is big but then that wore off quick. I feel like that again!

Lol yeah. Can you do me a favor? Can you measure your fender and wheel hub heights all around the truck? From the ground to bottom of the fender and ground to the center of the hub. I am currently leveled with a 2" block and 35s. I like my stance but am getting sick of the ride . I wanna step up to the cognito 4-6 lift because i think it will give me the best ride and be the closest to my current stance. If you cant, dont worry about it.

Its tough finding level ground but from measurements yesterday I'm about 11 5/8th from top of wheel to fender and my rears are about 12 1/2 to 12 3/4 depending on the surface. Its about an inch of rear rake with a 3" block. 2" block with this setup is supposed to level it.

Per Cognito the ideal setup for the 4-6" NTBD is supposed to be around 5" in the front. Maybe a tad lower depending on the trim job.

I will say this. Originally Pela took out my stock keys and added the Cognito keys that were sent with the kit. When I first saw her she was leveled and the torsions were cranked all the way down for the most part. Front couldn't go lower. This didn't allow me to have the 1 inch or so rear high rake I wanted. After further research, in order to get the rear rake the stock keys needed to be used, and a small amount of grinding needed to be done on them were a bolt sits. After the grinding and re-install of the stock keys the truck had the rear rake and the torsions were not bottomed out and could be adjusted down to get the front as low as possible. They did a good front trim job too. I sent them the NorCal trim instructions from their website for this setup just in case.

Cool. Thanks man. I had to do the large fender mod to clear the 35s for leveling kit. I already got the 2" blocks and cognito uca so im just gonna buy their 4" front end kit. My wheels are only 9" wide so i can have the front end a tad lower. Likr you i also like the rear higher so it desnt squat so much when you tow. Enjoy the ride man!

Thx Invictus.

Question to anyone.

My new Recon cab lights are leaking a little. It just POURED in S. Florida and my headliner has a coupe wet areas.

I notice my stock ones were VERY hard to get off originally, almost like sealed with silicone or the gasket was more of an adhesive material, sticky like.

The new Recons are just a soft sponge like gasket that compresses and once compressed thins out and stays compressed. I wonder if maybe I over tightened them too much. Or maybe I need to add Silicon around the whole perimeter?? I did add some silicon around the screw holes but I have a feeling its leaking around the hole where the power cord goes through.

Any suggestions anyone?

Put a light layer of silicone all around the light. I installrd cab lights onto my truck 2 years ago when it didnt have any to begin with. Thats what i did and with all the rain and snow thats sat on the roof since then, never had a problem.

We need a poll!

I know this is a personal preference thing but here are some pics.

-Currently tires stick out about 2.5-3 inches.
-Flares cover 1.75 front and 2" back so a little tire will still stick out
-I already had these pain matched when truck was in for warranty roof work around cab/3rd brake light.

I'm debating putting them on or not.

I wouldn't do flares either but that's my opinion.

I really think colormatching your mirrors, handles, and removing the door moldings would set it off!!!! I wanted this color so bad but I couldn't find one at the time.
