Hey all, first time with threads. I was driving my truck (2013 lml 4x4 gmc s2500) when the stabilitrak needs service and traction control needs service warnings both popped up. The truck went into a mode that only would go to 2nd or 3rd gear (im assuming thats limp mode) it also had a list of other issues .
Traction control;
Reverse beeper stuck in off
Clicking when releasing brake in drive
Wont go in 4 low
Wont go in tow mode
When i limped it home i replaced the fuel filter as it recommended and ran the computer that listed the following issues,
P01f0 coolant temperature
U0101 loss communication with transmission control module
When reset the u0101 code reset and
U0101-7f
c0561-71 came on. I checked power to all fuses, no issue and power to tcm and no problem. I was stumped and limped it to a mechanic for diagnostic and they also said all they could find was maybe its the tcm. My issue is that there where no problems leading up to it like what previous posts ive read have, no hard shifting, no rough idling, no issues getting into drive/reverse, no major power or fuel use issues. Any help is appreciated thank you

Sounds like might be the dreaded TCM failure. U codes are communication errors which lead to either wiring, or the TCM
Google c0561-71 to see what your problem might be. Interesting that EGR possibly could be the cause.

Yeah, my egr has already been deleted and has been since before i bought the truck 6 years ago. I was thinking that may have just been one of those ghost codes it threw?

I appreciate the response. I was really hoping it wasn’t but sure seems like its going to be.
