Has anyone had any problems with water leaking into the cab? I noticed water standing in the rear driver side floor board. Dealer checked it and said that it was the third brake light. They replaced the light, but I noticed that it is leaking again. Any thoughts or anyone else having this problem with the 2500 Chevy or GMC? :help

I had a sunroof drain line come apart under the dash and my driver side floorboard was flooded everytime it rained.

I had the sunroof leak up top where the drain line connects to the sunroof which dripped into the drivers seat. Dealer fixed it last week.

Took it to the dealer. Those guys done another water test with it and found that it was leaking in one of the vents on the back of the cab, in between the cab and bed on the driver side. Said they had to remove the back seats to get to it. They sealed it with some sealant and done the same thing with the third brake light. Have not had any rain to see if it worked.

Just dropped my HC off this morning. Started dripping water where the visor goes up into the headliner yesterday. One thing to note is that the rain storm we've been having yesterday into today, hasn't had any torrential down pours. Just a fairly light constant rain. The head liner was soaked this morning. So it is probably the shark fin. Possibly a cab light. I'll post again later today when they've looked it over and found the cause.

No leaking thus far and I have been through many a car wash as well as rain and hail storms here as well in the last 14 months. I have the shark fin, sun roof and rear sliding window as well.

Noticed a drop of water fall from the driver sun visor hinge on the way home today. had your typical wtf reaction. Placed my hand up around the plastic and felt the water spot. Initial assumptions was the shark fin, but now I'm reading back window and 3rd brake like could be culprits as well? We had a pretty good down pour all morning, truck was parked in the middle of the lot. driver side was down hill, parked perpendicular to the grade so to say. This certainly wasn't the first down pour its seen, but first time I've had an issue. 41k miles if that makes any difference.

we've had a lot of freezing and thawing going on the past couple weeks. When I felt on the shark fin I could rock it back an forth, as i did water ran out of the base. 'dunno;

I'm guessing if I can feel the water on the outside of the head liner then any padding could assumably be soaked? Can I just let it dry out no worries?
Should I go in and look to fix it myself, whats the difficulty level here on the interior disassembly; or try and get GM to do something with it?

Unrelated but ironically I just got the truck out of the shop for a P21DD CEL, they put a new DEF tank in. everything tends to happen at once I reckon.

Going through the issue of a leak from the shark fin - have water dripping from bottom of dash landing on ebrake peddle then to floor. Got ahold of GM Service 1 800 # here in Canada told them of the issue, they are saying I have to pay $100.00 dedutable to fix it because truck has more than 60ks on it ,so am at war now. Did some checking there is Gm Program Bulletin SB 10058785- 9942 Bulletin # 15155 Gm rep didn't even know about it , some good reading , don't let them screw you around . This leak could cause issues with your nav-radio-on star, so needs to be dealt with . Take Care

I keep checking mine after noticing the wet headliner a while back around the sun visor but it doesn't seem to be coming through anymore at least not in that spot. I can see a tiny faint water stain from the one time it did get in, would this warrant them to process fixing the leak and replacing the head board?

I've been trying to wait for this to repeat itself so when I go in the headliners actually wet but I can't seem to find any more evidence of a continuous leak. I just recently went on vacation to Hilton head and didn't have to drive the majority of the week. When I got back in the truck it smelled like a gym locker room kinda moldy but I don't work out or leave clothes/ trash inside. Washed the truck really well before the trip also. I'm almost at the point of pulling the damn headliner myself and taking a water hose around the truck to get the evidence I need.

Could it have just been the dealership detailing the truck that day before, pressure washer forcing water in but rain doesn't leak? If it was a pressure washer that caused the water intrusion would this still put me in a warranty situation? ticked off that I have a water stain with no way to prove a water leak.

In the last couple of weeks I have been dealing with gm over this leak from the shark fin . In my past postings I mention those service bullitins put out by gm mentioning the water leak at the shark fin antenna. I have been dealing with gm at the 1 800 warranty number up here in Canada to a rep named Julie ,she doesn't have a clue what is going on . When I mentioned these service bullitins to her she had no clue what I was talking about ,never heard about them . If you read those bullitins it says right in them that all vehicles subject to the leaking from the shark fin for those years mentioned will be under warranty reguardless of miles , who now owns the vehicle, at no cost to them . I was told by Julie that a decision would be made as to what was going to be done with my truck and she would get back to me . A rep of hers got back to me and said that my claim had been denied, my milage was over 60k they only cover it up to 60k so tuff luck basically no matter what bullitin said . My bitch here is not with my dealership I want to make that clear, they have been awesome to me ,there is so much they have done for me. It is with gm,they have to ok repairs for the dealer to get paid ,they put out bullitins that apparently don't mean anything. They are a big company that has got there hands out when you purchase a vehicle , but won't stand behind them for warranty, even with a service bullitin is out for work to be done. Sorry for rambling on ,this really really p******** me off. Take Care

Well I have discovered another damn water leak. My truck sat in the driveway all week untouched, rained nearly everyday as well. Got in it yesterday and there is water on the passenger side floor mat. Dried it up and as soon as I started to move the truck more water down from below the dash, (like it was trapped sitting in there somewhere). I have a sun roof as well.

Has anyone ever heard of water leaking in on passenger side before?

Thanks
Ken

Sorry, I can't help on any of the other leak issues but I have information to share. I have 2015 chev sil 2500 hd with shark fin, sunroof and rear sliding window. I found a large amount of water in front and rear floorboard on driver's side. Been at dealership two weeks. Thanks to a previous post, I shared the info with dealership this past Tuesday.....Bingo, they found the leak........ cab vent on driver's side.

The dealership has been great!! They are replacing cab vent, seal, carpet and padding. Hope this info helps others.

My 2016 Chevy HD was wet on driver side front and rear floorboards. Took to dealer ship and after a week and a half they called to say they finally found the leak.....cab vent between the cab and bed...which i was sure the problem was. So hoping to get my pickup back today. Thanks to all the comments on here that helped me. Dont let dealership tell you this forum doesn't work! If they had listened to me maybe I would have my pickup back already!
