When the went away from the 100,000 mile for everything, they kept (and still have) the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty for the 6.6L duramax.Do they still have that? I thought they did away with that and bumped it back to 3/36,000
Thanks for the information. You mentioned that you have used a Ram and a Ford to do your work. I still think that GM has the best product of the three. I hope this is the end of your troubles and that you have many good miles ahead of you.I use Rotella T5 and AC Delco filter ,it gets serviced by the DIC or 10,000 whichever comes first , usually the 10, I am picking it up tomorrow and hope to find out a cause but they may just know failure.
I got the truck back and have driven it about 500+ miles and its flawless so far, best part is all looks /feels new! no damage , looking under the hood you can't tell its a new motor, this was not a typical dealer experience it was more of a religious experience ( LOL) seriously I am amazed !! Airport Chevy in Medford OR. They could not tell me why the 2 Mains spun and said honestly they will never know and GM will likely run it thru the rebuild process unless there is a reason to investigate. They replaced all hoses and oil contaminated pieces + Long block and put 50 + miles on it and I got it back on time and clean and ready to go. I will update again with some more info with time and miles![]()

This good news! Keep us posted on your experience with the new engine.1030 miles now, had a low coolant warning put coolant in twice in 2 days small amount now its been 500 miles and OK, My Def warning system has corrected to a Milage to empty, then % from 30% to 20% then a warning to fill soon because speed will be limited. I had the problem since new with only warning being "DEF empty fill now and DIC was unusable until filled , now DIC works normal and just gives warnings, I imagine this was a software problem from day one that was corrected when new engine was programmed. Still happy at 1000+ miles going in tomorrow for a oil change and coolant check. Still Happy![]()
