Looking for largest tires i can install with and without leveling kit on 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500hd Crew cab 4wd LTZ. I have 18” rims now but want to change to Fuel rims.
Prefer Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Will 285/65/R20 rub on 9” rims with 0 offset or 10” rims with -12 offset?
The website shows 34.8” high and 11.5” wide for that tire
Thinking about the adjustable Readylift leveling kit with the spacers and keys which claim to restore CV axle angles. The 2020 doesn't have more than 1.5” of height difference so i was thinking about leaving a little rake.
Went to two different tire stores today, one being an extreme truck store and neither one could tell me anything.
Prefer not to cut anything

Unless you want to level it, you don’t have to. I am running 35x12.50x20’s and 18 offset Mayhem Warriors on my stock height 2020 Sierra. No rubbing and the tires do stick out a little from the fenders. I did massage the wheel wells a little, but it was not “necessary.” I just wanted to be 100% sure it was not going to be an issue. Not sure about the 0 offset, but if you run an 11.5” tire it probs wouldn’t be an issue. I thought about leveling the truck, but decided that it is tall enough as it is, plus I don’t know if my wife could get in it if it was higher. Lol. Good luck and I’d like to see it when you're done.

I assume that 18 offset is a negative offset since the wheels stick out a bit? The spokes appear like they are recessed another 1/2" or so from center.
What width rim did you use? Your truck looks like it has a leveling kit on it!! That's the look I'm trying to achieve, not too high and get more tire under those huge wheel wells.
Those rims look similar to the Fuel "Nutz" rims I picked out as well.

Yes they are a 18 offset. That is a 20x9 wheel and I am running the 35x12.5x20 Ridge Grapplers. I think they are 34.6” tall. I am not running any type of leveling kit or lift. Here is my truck now. First one is the day I saw it and second is not too long after the tires and wheels.

Thats exactly what i’m looking for and a great looking truck!
Does the Denali have the same suspension/wheel wells as the GM LTZ? It sure looks like its not as raked, mine is less than 1-1/2 rake.
The picture below is a stock Michelin 275/70/r18 which is 33.2” x 11” but the tire is crowned in the center and outside diameter is about 32-3/8. Not sure how much ridge grapplers are crowned, if any, but that puts it darn close without leveling kit. The clearance measurement at the edge is 1-5/8 so a 35 is roughly 34-3/4 and a 2-3/8 difference. Half of that(radius) is 1-3/16. If the grappler doesn't crown at all, it adds about 3/8” which would barely touch the plastic. Even if it doesn't crown, it appears from attached picture that its at least beveled. The tire is about centered so a leveling kit wont gain much more than 3/8” clearance. If it does rub a little, i think a heat gun would work by reforming slightly

I am about 95% sure that the wheel wells are the same size. I follow a guy on YouTube that is running 35x13.50x20’s on a 2020 Duramax with his stock keys cranked just a little.
As for my truck, it does still have a little rake. I did not mess with the factory keys at all. I had a leveling kit on my 2015 before I lifted it and I hated how it rode. Had a 5” lift on the ‘15 and this truck is only about 2” shorter. One thing though, I just ordered a full set of Bilstein 5100’s for my truck today. The Ranchos are complete and total junk. I had the Bilsteins on my lifted ‘15 and it rode amazing.
As long as you go the right offset, you should not have any issues with the set up you are looking at. Massaging the wheel liners is super easy because they attach with metal brackets. I just used a scrap 2x4 wedged against the tire to bend mine out a little. You can’t even tell I did anything by looking at it.
You can see the rake better in this pic.

I found a shop (after going to two others) that had someone with experience.
After a couple measurements, he said 34’s would be the largest without a lift that he would guarantee and didn’t want to take the risk.
The rims on the truck now have a +44 offset so a +20 offset rim would move the rim out about an inch. The rake is only about 1-1/4”, not sure if it’s the Z71 package or this is standard for 2020(might be why you didn’t need a leveling kit). I’d really like to find a rim and a tire to try since the guy at the shop didn’t think it would fit. The measurement I took was 1-5/8 clearance now so a 35 will add an inch to radius and moving offset an inch would be another 1/2” so I estimate an 1/8” clearance after all said and done. The Nitto’s might be a bit more beveled than the Michelins I have now but are almost an inch wider so I don’t think I would gain or lose anything. As of right now, I’m still debating or until I get some solid evidence on a 2020 2500hd LTZ Z71. He did point out those 2020 mud flaps may have to be cut since they are a bit below centerline of wheels.
So I’m still in a holding pattern

Go to Custom Wheel Offsets and look at their gallery. Here is the link:

They show a lot of stock suspension Chevy trucks with the setup you are looking at. It will work. No doubt in my mind.

I saw that sight and data seems to be all over the place. Many are quoting negative offsets which seems impossible with 35's and no lift.
Maybe they are getting the +- offset confused but I do know the rim that comes stock is a +44 so a +20 would more the tire out 24mm (or about an inch).
The first truck on the list is using 35"x12.5" with a -18 offset and 20x10" rims, there's no way that would work from the measurements I took. going from a +44 to a negative 18 is 2-1/2". Maybe he meant +18 offset since it states the tires stick out about an inch...

The second one is running 35"x11.5" tires with slight rubbing and 0 offset. Like you mentioned before, the offset needs to be just right for it to work and I'm thinking +18 is the correct offset.

I spend a lot of time off road at the ranch and use the articulation in the suspension frequently. Have 34k on my 2020 and have run since day one 35x12.50-20 Ridge Grapplers. Just put on my 3rd set (ranch is hard on tires love Discount Tire Certificates :) ) and they only rub a tiny bit not even any rub marks when turned all the way almost and the suspension is being articulated quite a bit. :)

Hey guys I’ve been searching but can’t get a straight (easy) answer.

I’m looking to pick a 2020 once our refi closes very soon. So what is the largest tire that will fit with no rub on stock 18” w/Z71 (if that matters)? I know you guys are saying 35x12.5x20 but with aftermarket wheels with different offset. I would like to keep stock wheels for a bit and when I do upgrade would like to stay with 18. Would a 35x12.5x18 fit with no rub? Don’t mind a bit of cranking to the t-bars.

What’s the offset on stock 18”?

I love my LBZ and only have had it for 1.5 yrs but wifey wants new! Who am I do disagree lol. Picking a new travel trailer and she wants more creature comforts.

2020 Chevrolet & GMC 2500HD & 3500SRW - 2wd & 4wd
Factory 17x7.5 Wheel Offset = +44 mm - Back Space = 5.98" Inches
Factory 18x8.0 Wheel Offset = +44 mm - Back Space = 6.20" Inches
Factory 20x8.5 Wheel Offset = +47 mm - Back Space = 6.60" Inches
Lug Pattern= 8 x 180 - Single Rear Wheel Trucks Only

I would say a 285/75-18 would fit perfect without any mods on stock wheels

Wheel and tire size aside, I want to know what you guys think of Nitto Ridge Grappler? I'm curious because I'm planning to try out a set and replace my current tires for the latter part of this year. I've read that Nitto Ridge Grappler could provide a more quiet ride while traversing any terrain. I have 18" chrome wheels that I'll be installing with it. I'll also remove my fender flares for and make necessary adjustments if there's an issue of rubbing.

I’m running them on my 2020 and I also had them on my 15’. It is the only tire I will run on my HD trucks. Quiet and will handle ANYTHING I can do I’m my trucks.

It didn’t mess with my mileage at all, as far as I could tell. I weighed factory wheels and tires and my current set up and it was about 3 lbs heavier per wheel on the new set. It wasn’t enough in my opinion to make a difference. I only had about 1k miles on my truck when I put them on so I didn’t have much in the way of data to compare. I am at just over 10k miles now and my mileage just keeps going up.

I don’t know what the measurements are, but I go through an auto car wash 1 to 2 times a month. No issues. Keep in mind that your track is only about 3-4” wider than stock.

I have a 2021 Silverado 2500 4x4 Duramax. I recently purchased 18x9 +0 offset XD847 and 275/70r18 Kenda RT tires.
Will this rub? I went with the smaller tire size knowing the +0 offset will stick the wheels out a little.
I’d like to know if this will rub prior to install. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
