Picked up some Goodyear Duratracs today. They are 35x12.50r20 with the stock suspension and no rubbing. Very impressed how the 2020 HDs will clear these tires from the factory. I drove through a construction entrance on Monday and cut my factory tire on the corner of the sidewall. The tire store said that it couldn't be patched but that I could try plugging it myself. I decided to upgrade tires instead and hold onto the takeoffs for another work truck that I have. Overall, I'm impressed with the look and ride quality. GM should have used these as the factory tire for the AT4 HD.

PS. Sorry for the dirty truck photos. I run a construction company.

GM has to package protect for tire chains so slightly larger tires generally fit with no issues.

Duratracs will not be sold as factory equipment in the future due to Goodyear not wanting OEMs to modify it for their needs. Duratracs will be an aftermarket only tire. The 1500s will be the last to have them. Goodyear has a new brand called territory that OEMs will use for AT and MT applications.

Good day!

Just wondering what you mean by Goodyear not wanting OEM's to modify the tires for their needs.

Thank you!

Tire manufacturers have brands within their tire lineup that are very good in the aftermarket. They don't want the OEMs to modify the tire to their priorities because it could alter the core DNA of the tire brand. An OEMs desire to have better stopping distance or rolling resistance could hurt the off road performance of a Duratrac. Goodyear does not want to put something out ther that could hurt their brand and aftermarket sales. Michelin does this with their BF Goodrich lineup currently.

Nice looking truck. I've been pouring through this forum looking for someone running these tires with a negative offset wheel. Do you have any thoughts on whether there would be rubbing with a -18 offset instead of the +44 on the stock wheels? I'm leaning towards the Kryptonite levelling kit regardless which should help regardless. Thanks.

I'm wanting to upgrade my tires also. I'm hesitant on installing a leveling kit because I tow a pretty big 5th wheel and would rather not install air bags in the rear because or the rough ride. So was just wondering if you have taken your truck off road so it really articulates to see if those tires rub?

I will not use the Duratracs due to the weak 2ply sidewall know of failures in the field with them (had to help plug more than one for a surveyor during one day) I run and have run many sets of the Nitto Ridge Grappler 3ply sidewalls. Run these on my 2020 Denali now (35x12.50-20) and there is no rubbing during articulation. I am one of those people who works it out off road just because of where I have to go on the ranch. On the highway just amazing how smooth they are. .

Be careful with this decision. The stock wheels are skinny and they are offset to the inside of the truck. Basically the truck is too wide for the stock wheels in my opinion. If you look at it for too long and start thinking the same thing as I do, you’ll want to upgrade to a wider wheel then those 35’s will rub. I’m running 295/65/20 (35.1x11.8) Toyo AT3 on 20x9 +20 Fuel wheels on a leveled 3500 and they still rub the front of the wheel well just a little when steering wheel is at full lock and in reverse. A 12.5” wide tire will rub worse than what I’ve got. Especially on a truck with stock suspension.

I run 35x12.50x20’s on the stock AT4 rims and have 0 issues with rubbing. I would say if you go wider you will rub on the frame though.

Your offset is around 24mm further out than the stock rims. There are guys running ridge grapplers on this forum in 295x65x20 on stock rims with no rub (no suspension mods).
