If you didn’t sign anything that says it was non-refundable, call your credit card company and dispute the transaction. Tell them you canceled the order and never received anything for your $1k and you believed it was supposed to be refundable and now out of nowhere you’re being told otherwise. Can’t hurt to try anyway. The truck is on the lot that I put down the 1k deposit on. It's not exactly what I wanted and I was going to settle and get it instead of the one I ordered. That dealer is 7 hours away and before I had time to go get it, the dealer where I placed an order told me I had a TPW. So I decided to wait on the ordered one.
I've had dealers tell me their deposits were not refundable, since I don't agree with that, I never did business with them. I made several calls to this dealer before I made the deposit, and not once did they tell me about their policies. They mentioned the phone calls so I pressed to hear them. I didn't get to hear any of the phone calls they said they had. They said they couldn't figure out where the confusion was about their policy, and they are refunding the deposit. If you didn’t sign anything that says it was non-refundable, call your credit card company and dispute the transaction. Great I'm glad to hear you are getting it back!I've had dealers tell me their deposits were not refundable, since I don't agree with that, I never did business with them. I did not ask about the refundability of that deposit, that one is on me. The dealer did not tell me what the policy was, and that is on them. They are giving me my 1k deposit back.
Congratulations!I got a VIN! The dealer told me the truck is awaiting dispatch. Now I just get to wait until it gets here! I checked the gmc inventory page, and there it is! This unicorn of a truck is in transit!
that is a gm automated post, not necessarily on a transport vehicleI got a VIN! The dealer told me the truck is awaiting dispatch. Now I just get to wait until it gets here! I checked the gmc inventory page, and there it is! This unicorn of a truck is in transit!
That's awesome news and your one major step closer. Now to get the transport going. If your dealership is nice to you now that you have a vin they can add your cell number to VinView and you will get automated updates every time the truck moves.I got a VIN! Mine was built dec 10 and arrived at the dealer last weekMy truck was built 12/12/22. And just got off hold and waiting for a carrier.
Wow, I'm really frustrated about shipping. I've seen ones built this month come in two weeks after there built . If it doesn't come in this week I'll definitely look around and buy one of those off the lot.Mine was built dec 10 and arrived at the dealer last week
It seems they are shipping faster now....my last truck sat 10 months before it was shippedWow, I'm really frustrated about shipping. I've seen ones built this month come in two weeks after there built . If it doesn't come in this week I'll definitely look around and buy one of those off the lot.
I'm sure your last one sat without parts, supposedly that's not happening anymore. If it doesn't arrive soon, I won't accept it, I don't want something that was in a field for any length of time. Dealer lot's are filling up with trucks all around Michigan, so getting a truck is no longer an issue. It seems they are shipping faster now....my last truck sat 10 months before it was shipped

I'll ask about that VinView. I don't think the dealer is gonna know what i'm talking about, given the history of this ordeal. But at least it's worth asking about! That's awesome news and your one major step closer. Now to get the transport going. From my understanding VinView allows one email address and one cell number for the automated updates. My salesman had his email address in there so I had to use my cell and got text updates anytime the truck moved and where it moved to.
I have a question, mine is brand new, 1k miles, my first tank I was getting 17-20 mpg on my work commute and my second tank same commute 14-17 mph.I got mine back on July 28th after waiting 8months. I have right at 10k miles on it and I do have to say I am impressed with the mpg (as long as you keep it about 67mph or below). I have been easily able to get 20+mpg empty on the highway. I did a 420 mile trip running 75-80 and mpg dropped to about 17. Still not bad for the high profile and 8,135# as delivered.
