2024 Trans valve body bit the dust.... Anybody know how long the backorder is?

I have 2024 2500 Duramax with 32,000 on it. It went to the dealer on October 29th and was diagnosed as needing the valve body replaced. After waiting for 2.5 months for a valve body, with none available, the service manager escalated the case to replacing the entire transmission. They called today to say the truck is ready to go. Has been down for 3.5 months. Does anyone know if the new transmissions and/or valve body are a new design? Or will these also fail?
