Do we need an area for info about the 3.0L Dmax in the 1500?

Until I have time to create a new section.
Here's a thread to contribute to on the subject....keep hold on 'random'.

Not sure on the 2020 yet, as all sub forums are based on different RPO engines.
While there are changes to the platform (trans/axles), it's still an L5P engine.
A similar example would be the '15.5-'16 diff from '11-'15, all still LMLs.

I get that these sections follow the powertrain changes rather than body changes.

New powertrain has significant changes ...except the RPO.

LLY was split -- for valid reasons -- so this wouldn't be the first time.

Hey Hook--

What about me? I need my own section for my 4500 and L5D or I'm going to scream bloody murder.

You're the only one in the Country to take delivery on one. :teehee

I guess this ^ doesn't fit anymore, since they didn't bring back the -Aak/-Iick names with the MD comeback tour. 'dunno;

Right. I thought maybe that's what ya meant.

But they're two different engines. The inclusive split title was for the few that had early LBZ lesser tuning (LLY level), different 8th digit vin with the same engine.

I can't imagine that a 17-19 ecm that speaks to the 6 speed TCM will work with the on a 20 with a 10 speed.
Gale Banks video spent a lot of time doing the side by side video of the 2 generations to outline the differences.

Regardless, it was just a suggestion.

Hook, I did post on the old 45/55 forum. Will it show up anywhere? The index doesn't show the Kodiak/Topkick forum. How about just labeling it Medium Dutys?

Or "DumbA***s with no kidneys"

Maybe include the L5D in with the L5P's?

Thanks Hook,

John

It's a sub forum in this;
https://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/#gm-diesel-non-truck-section

That was created over 10 years ago....looking back, the logic isn't there as it's labeled a
"diesel-non-truck-section" with vans and conversions, but the MD is clearly a TRUCK.

Perhaps some title changes on existing categories.
I need to study on it a bit, come up with something that's in line with the original logic layout from years ago.
Gotta be careful messing around with the Matrix and decades of posts/threads involved.

Along with coming up with something on the new powertrain post engine of the 2020 HDs. In the past, a chassis/trans change went hand in hand with a new RPO engine and the sub forums follow that layout.

How about you just starting a new category for 2019 and up MD's and lump the 5D in there. Won't ever be enough posts on the engine by itself and most is identical to the 5P.
That way you don't have to disturb the old MD forum.

AND, I get my own all by myself forum for all my political rants? LOL

Again, thanks
