I recently purchased a white 2023 3500 diesel, crew cab long box, brand new, for my business mostly but personal use as well. When I went to first see it, it had been just delivered off of the semi truck, it had 2 miles on it. It was extremely dirty I figured it was road grime, I came back a few days later to formally pick it up and it was still just as dirty, .. and under the hood was very dirty, but I was excited so I became acceptant of lower standards due to the covid..but on the third day I owned it, it would not start.. due to corrosion on the batteries.. dealer would do nothing, I have had to out of pocket everything going forward from here, even after Ive purchased the extended 100,000 mi warranty.. but on my own further investigation revealed a-lot of corrosion throughout, I took video and pics but they always get deleted when I post them, even on u tube I posted them, they got flagged and taken down. I was, and am extremely upset for $100,000 this is what we get now.. fast forward a few months to today, 20,000 on the clock, and the paint is flaking off,(dealer wont warranty)they say its rock chips, ambient temp sensor wont work despite repeated replacement, (dealer wont warranty), the radio works sometimes..sometimes dosnt, block heater doesn’t work correctly( i think because of ambient sensor issues), and the trans has this thing that when it randomly decides to, usually in park at starting but now always does it every so often in park is, slam.. just slam and a bang and a lurch, dealers have said no issues, but theres a TSB that says its normal.. sure it is, did I mention the paint is peeling off? Wtf.. this is salt belt country.. but never mind that.. first new vehicle I have ever owned, terrible delivery service and service in general, from several different local dealers, they want to know nothing and their word is god. Bottom line, I like this truck alot, it gets super fuel mileage for what it is, its super quiet, no smell of diesel, except the extreme burning smell that is very alarming when it goes into regen. I love the power and overall capability with options it has like the power inverter and actual four wheel drive, I have had it in the mud, heavy mud, 4’ of western ny snow-albeit after a new set of tires was installed at 8000 miles.. stock Michelins are a joke, I have pulled a 32’ camper, an excavator for my business and a dump hauler trailer, it pulls excellent while still getting awesome fuel mileage and plenty of power. The only main drawback so far besides these issues I stated is.. it eats tires for fun, on my third set at 20,000mi, im really trying to be easy on the pedal, and rotating myself every 1500-2000mi. But good lord that’s getting expensive..
I supposedly ordered it, but it came very quickly for what I was expecting, and it has had nothing but problems, clearly a lemon, or a rebadged 2021 is what I personally think. I have also had no luck internally with GM they said they can only go off of what dealers say, they are the eyes and ears, so the last guy told me.. so I will be posting as much as I can about my adventures until I get some sort of accountability from GM. Just buyer beware.. upstate NY Bob Johnson buick GMC

sux but you should have gone over every inch of that truck. I would not have accepted it with corrosion or dirt or looking like ass.

the sad part is that as soon as you drove it off the lot it was yours and you were then facing the uphill battle you have now.

Yes, you are correct, I did go over that truck very carefully many times in fact..so much so they got annoyed and told me they were going to sell to another interested party, I got nervous and they won the bluff, I brought up the battery corrosion on pick up day, they said if the tech didnt do anything on inspection then nothing was needed.. I waited 3 years for this truck, so to pass it up would have been just as upsetting as getting a lemon, but here we are its mine now, I got to make the best of it, already looking at trading, if something fits my criteria I would probably go for it.. just wish GM had better standards for the cost of these things its a bit ridiculous.

Us here in NY definitely things take a beating but, that new of a truck you should not have an issue with the paint. Regardless if its in NY, they are telling you its due to abuse? Are you supposed to only drive it on pavement and also out of inclement winter weather?

I feel for you for sure. Customer service has taken a dive from everything i continue to read. Sucks you have to find the right dealer to do business with that will have your back. Not brush you off.

Absolutely, all of my paint issues came about long before mud or snow was a factor, the major spot on the hood was a month into ownership,(since may 2023) they gave all kinds of reasons why, rock chips is most common, paint not what it used to be, should invest in the paint guard system.. etc.. but why is it now peeling up on the cab roof? How did a rock chip that? The paint scratches very easily and just a bump with a cart from walmart takes paint off, All my other GM vehicles are over 20 years old some with a million miles, road salt beat for years and field bombed like they were stolen, non of them have scratches or chips like this truck.. I went to school to work on bmws in 2005, back then it was really a thing for customer service to be flawless.. now, 20 years later there is no customer service. Just super high demand for something that they can easily sell if I dont work out, once its out the door, bye ..sucker

I have, they told me the dealer is the eyes and ears, what they say goes, if its good by them … its good. I was also told my expectations are far to high, and that defects are to be expected. Its when complete breakdown or its unusable beyond repair then it would be an issue, but my concerns are just me being ultra critical and my expectations are not actually realistic, I did record every conversation I have had with GM. Its not a good look for them, and me being a life long GM owner .. its like seeing your super hero as a fake imposter who famboosled everyone..
