I see a lot of guys making 50hp tow tunes, 80 hp tow tunes, 150hp race tunes and so on, so how do you know the HP for the tune when you create it? Is it just based on what you know a truck with similar modifications has will do or is there something in EFI that tell you this?

Thanks

Most tuners have tons of time on the dyno along with detailed notes showing what tables effect what and how much. It may not be exactly a 50 or 100hp tune but its pretty damn close.

Also like you said it all depends on what supporting mods you may have.

That's why I raised the question. I know some mods in themselves will add some HP, so if the tuner doesn't take this into account then you could end up with more HP than the tranny can take. The mods I plan are standard stuff so the tuner should be able to have a good idea what to add.

Thanks!

Well back when my tranny was stock and after I limped it 6 times... My 160 tune put down 451 on the dyno, even on 35's. But like said above most tuners have done it so teasting that they know what power there tunes will make
