I am trying to planning out this project and ran into this problem right at the start. My truck came with this wiring harness and it has 22 pages of instructions on how to install it ( see below) And to be honest after reading the instruction I still don't understand what they are doing. The actual wires on the harness are very small so they can't be for anything but activating a relay I think.

Below is the GM outfitter instructions for the wiring harness, it is bulletin # 124j

https://www.gmupfitter.com/files/media/photo/1152/UI Bulletin 124j.pdf

So my goal is to end up with enough relays to run :

1. Extra Lights ( all led and draw low amounts of power )
2. Air Compressor ( about a 20 Amp draw )
3. Several electric air valves ( very low power need )

My question would be do I need to worry about using this wiring harness to run a air compressor ?????

Thanks for any input

Fee and Bypass

Will they not install it for free? It's on the first page of the TSB.
Thanks for replying back

On page one in the Note section it says the fees will be waved if installed by dealer, and indeed my dealer will waive the fee if I want to install a snowplow.

What I have decided to do is install the air compressor normal and see if it causes any computer error. And if I have problem then I will go ahead and install the snow plow bypass relay/cord
