Allison swap from a zf6

I have an 04.5 lly with the zf6 in it. As much as i love manuals and enjoy driving them im just not a fan of manual pickups. How hard would it be to swap in an allison if i can i would like to swap in a 6 speed allison too. Would i have to buy a tcm or is there still a "disabled" tcm in the zf6 models? Is the tcm part of the ecu? Would i have to buy a different steering column?

With the rarity of that truck, plus the people out there who want and search tirelessly for the ZF6, you'd be better off selling/trading for an Auto vs the hassles with the swap.

Post a ridiculously high price for it on trader....wait for bites.
I think you'd come out ahead

How rare is the truck actually? Did you have to custom order it or what?
No, it came standard with a manual. $2k (?) option for the Ally.
It's rarity is that only a few were produced, as most Dealers all order 'em with the Auto.

The rarest? An upper level trim with the ZF6, as most built were in the WT trim.
I agree, sell it and buy one with an auto. The ZF6 Duramax's don't seem to command the premium a manual trans Cummins does, but as hard as they are to find they are definitely worth more to the right buyer.
Crew cab?
Extended cab?
Loaded?
WT?

A zf truck is about like hitting the lottery anymore.
I searched hard for a zf for awhile. Only found 2 for sale on this side of the Mississippi at the time. I only know of one locally. Just try to find one itll give you an idea.
Where are you located?
It is an extended cab pretty sure base model. I'm located in north dakota. I'm actually in the process of getting the engine resealed and putting new rod and main bearings in. And I'm trying to find a little bit of an upgraded trans to put in. And possibly a little bit more of a heavier duty clutch
I was also debating on getting some head studs for it since it's an lly
Arps.
South bend or valair for a clutch.
