:thumbSo, I get on here frequently and always am envious of these personal threads that everybody makes. Build threads for the most part. Now I don't take that many pictures for a detailed build thread so that's why its not a specific build thread but more of a history and where am I now thread. Mainly for me to keep up with my truck, but will be adding modifications as I go and taking more pictures. ( I promise!)

Here's my LBZ as she sits now.

Here's a directory of modifications, repairs, or general bs to date on the truck and the links to the post :thumb

Hey man, what's going on, hadn't heard nothing new in a while lol

BTW what setting do you run your Ranchos on?

#284 ·
Right now the front is 6, and the rear is 5. I dont really say much about the ride of the truck since its 7000 lbs anyway, and ain't no Cadillac. But i drive mostly highway.

Headed home from vacation with the wife in Panama City Beach. We took her Kia so haven't drove the ol girl since last friday. But nothing new yet. Now that vacation is over, we have agreed that our next big purchase is getting my transmission built!

#281 ·
Well man, that's awesome. Built trans!!!:gearjamin:gearjamin

#283 ·
Hell yeah! And I'll check my Rancho settings in a bit.

That was my last purchase. You gonna have to get built trans tunes with the built trans Andrew... You know this right?
Yes i know. I may switch tuners when I build my trans, but still debating this.

Well after a Merica' Burnout over the weekend and with plenty sliding and spinning before that in the previous months i changed out my spent 265s to some usd 285s i bought awhile back. I forgot how good it looks when the wheel wells are actually full. Gonna either clean the truck this weekend or try out these used m/t's. Still debating.

I know, it was late and i was headed home. My ol ladies friend got the big burnout on her snapchat though, but thats long gone. Today when i went to switch the tires out i brought the gopro and my other camera to burn them off but didn't end up doing it since i was short on time. Wish i would have though, but i still kept the 2 fronts so they can be used for mayhem possibly in the future

Andrew, whose trans you going with or whose building it? and when lol:popcorn

#289 ·
Not exactly sure who or when. Im leaning towards Todd Spaulding in Illinois to build it though. And I'm hoping before the end of this year she'll be built. Im saving slowly.

On another note, the 285s i installed are loud, rough, and vibrate around 70, and they also shake the whole truck around 50. Not to worried about it though since these are just to get by with. But man the whole truck is shaking at 55 haha.

I mounted and balanced them. 1 tire took a whole lot of weight to get close. I broke it back down and spun the tire on the wheel 180 degree but no effect. The tire had alot of run out and i got them all as close as i could get. The tread is in pretty rough shape, being as its pretty chopped chopped was run over inflated prior to me putting them on.

Its all good buddy

Little update, i detailed the truck the other weekend. And Saturday i resprayed some bed liner on a couple spots that had some peel from probably the power washer. I also took out the kick step panels inside the doors and sprayed bed liner on them as well. Seen it in another thread and i like the way it came out. They are always dirty anyway, so at least this way it makes em not look to bad. Here's a few pictures.

#296 ·
Hopefully this bed liner will keep em looking cleaner.

So today on the way home from work i met a 6.0 gto on the highway and toyed with him. I used to have a 5.7 so to be able to mess around with this car was nice. Not sure who it was since the windows were tinted where i couldn't see in. But anyways, i got into it next to the gto, and he came flying around me. By the time i caught him he had slowed back to 80 and i was doing about 80 as well, and as i was pulling up behind him he started to speed up again. So i put my foot down and was pulling on his bumper until 110 when i let out, and he kept going to probably 120 or so. Not sure if he was foot hard down or not but it smelled like he was, and man did the car sound good.

So i have a dilemma. I want a level truck, thats capable of doing 4wd launches without breaking parts. The way to do that i believe is to lower the front end down and use drop shackles. Id like to keep 285s as they fill out the wheel well good but if 265s still look decent then that'll be fine too.

My dilemma is should i spend some money to make the truck able to 4wd launch any time, or should i just lower the front end down at the drag strip? If i can make the truck look good leveled and lowered then id go that route too, as long as it doesn't destroy being able to use the truck as a truck. I sometimes use it off pavement in dirt and mud.

#300 ·
Now i have sleeves and a dhd brace. I run the sleeves all the time and only put the brace on when i race at the drag strip. Eventually I'll get heavier duty tie rods.

#302 ·
I know itll launch ok, ive launched it before with the torsion adjuster bolts lowered and it went straight. I jist dont know if i wanna run the truck lowered and leveled and ready for 4wd launches anytime, or keep it where its at and only lower the truck when i wanna race.

#303 ·
Why do you only run the brace at the track? I just installed mine tonight and im going to daily it. I'm in the same dillema as you but after this brace and doing launches im just gonna get like a 1" shackle and i'll be level.

#310 ·
I'll have to round my edges :thumb The slider doesn't even touch my diff when at full lock. I didn't have anyone to move the wheel and check it so i just did straight and full lock.
