No, seems to pretty much be what they claim it to be.
You can buy antifreeze at places like Auto Zone, yellow in color, premixed to 50/50, advertised to be compatible with any/all other types of coolant. I have personally used it with green and ELC without a problem that I can see.
Do NOT mix green with any of the extended life coolants. Turns into a nasty jelly and will require a cooling system flush.
Anti freeze will never loose its ability to protect from freezing. However, the additives that prevent cavitation, rusting, foaming and a change of pH will deplete in time. Still a good idea to flush your cooling system and replace the antifreeze periodically.
