2003 Duramax, sometimes the diesel pump does not get enoung or any pressure therefore it will not start, this might happen once a week. We have changed shaft sensors, pressure regulator, all the computer boxes etc, pump it self works just fine, and once it starts, it runs just fine. We get no error codes when it is hooked up to a machine at the shop. Any suggestions?? It has been in the shop for months now, and it is still not fixed.

Fuel Filters? do you keep them changed regulary? Also, might there be a small leak somewhere and the truck looses prime if it sits for a few days?

also, take a look at your fuel bleeder screw to make sure it is not cracked and the seal is good.

Since you do have a scan tool it sounds like at your disposal....

Watch actual rail pressure when cranking when it acts up. Where does it go?

If it does not start, can you prime it a few times with the primer and get it to fire right up?

Is it worse hot or cold or does it not seem to matter?
