42,000 miles. 2016. Oil pan seal has been replaced and does not leak. Oil filter does not leak. Drivers side bell housing is clean. Passenger side of bell housing is shown in photo. Bottom port of engine-bell housing shown in the other photo. Dealership will not drop the trans without $. Dealership has had it 6 full days with no answers. Do you think it’s the rear main or something else? If it’s likely the rear main, I’ll put the money down to drop the trans. If there’s something outside the bell housing then I’ll check it out. Truck is salvaged so no warranty.

So how long has it been since the truck has been rebuilt? Where was the damage and how hard was it hit? This is interesting to me because i have rebuilt a lot of these from salvage. Per the picture i would say it is fairly high up. Could it possibly be turbo drain or feed gaskets?

It was rebuilt at 10k. Prior owner put 30k on it. Front drivers side impact. The oil appears to go as high as 1 or 2 o’clock on the bell housing if you were viewing it from the back. If it the rear main, does the engine rotate counter clockwise and could the flex plate be slinging it against the seam and the capillary effect pulling it through the seam?

The flywheel is turning counter clockwise but I doubt it is the rear main seal. I would first check the turbo drain and feed pipe gaskets or seals for leaks. Any liquid coming from the valley would run down the pass side of flywheel housing.

Maybe this will help visualize it a bit. Green and blue are oil feed and red and yellow are oil drain. This is just my suggestion and maybe someone else has a different idea.
