Banks Stealth Pods for iDash

Banks Power released iDash Stealth Pods for 15-19 Chevy/GMC HD's & 19-21 Chevy/GMC 1500 and 2020+ 2500/3500

Hearing so many of you on here refer to the iDash I had to have one, well two... However I was not finding a mount I liked. Maybe they are nice but (just from photos) I was not happy with the fit and finish of the pods that are grafted onto factory dash parts nor did I want the suction cuppy...!

Watching a recently posted YouTube vid from Banks they showed off the their new Stealth Pod mounted in a customers truck. The Stealth Pod mounts in place of one of the bolts that hold the A-Pillar grab handle on. The wiring hides in the A pillar and it is a very professional looking install. It was just the ticket.

They have both single and double pod mounts.

Nice work Banks!!

Installation was easy. Banks includes everything, hardware, allen key and even the step drill bit needed to make the hole in the pillar for the wires (mount covers the hole).

They are hard to find on their website. I ended up using "Stealth" in the search bar to find it.

You need this!!

I agree, this is a great option, and easily reversible of ever need be.

the bolt hole in the pillar trim you have to drill out destroys one of the cover trim pieces once drilled. so if you reverse it back to oem that cover piece will rattle. it's a great solution but not 100% back to stock if you ever do

Incorrect!! The mount replaces the bolt cover. As long as you don't loose the cover you could return to 100% stock without ever being able to tell it was there. I drilled far enough over the cover would snap right back on.

I'm taking that from the banks install video I watched on it. so there is enough room it won't that excellent

I agree, while the Banks video uses the bottom clip hole to be the pilot for the drilled hole it doesn't have to be, and even if it was, a small dab of a rubberized cement like Welders, Shoe Goo, or E6000 would easily and removably keep the cover in place and rattle free for resale.

I ordered mine, still waiting for it to ship. Does it affect your visibility out the windshield at all? I currently have the CJM one and it’s completely not in my line of vision which I like

Exactly. Being I only have one cable passing through I was able to avoid the clip hole. Maybe with the Derringer or Pedal Monster, where you would have two wires passing the hole needs to be bigger and gets into the clip hole.

Slightly... Here is a Driver's Eye photo.

That is about the same blockage as my suction cup mount. Never bothered me.

Sweet thanks! Hopefully mine ships soon
I still prefer the Block8head mount, I like the looks better, blocks less of the windshield in my opinion and I can restore the vehicle back to original by putting the OEM piece back in.

The issue I have with either one is removing it before heading to the service department. They don't need another reason to deny warranty work.

Wonder what it would look like up on the top hole, so it’s up in the visor area?

Same. I know they aren’t supposed to void your warranty because of it but it’s a fight I would prefer to avoid and thus I take it off. I’ve already broken one of the clips on my a pillar from removing it and having a hell of a time finding the right color replacement.

it’s unfortunate we have to worry about a scan tool essentially.

I like the config of the Block8head mount and it does look to block less of the windshield. I was stressed on the part where it grafts to the OE dash might look too homemade with difference in the textures and such. Does it blend well? I believe it is much more money too? Dual Stealth Pod is $119

That makes sense.
I would think the host of other Banks upgrades you have would lead to warranty denial quicker than an OBD scanner that an iDash is. I have the Banks Ram Air and Monster exhaust too so I am really curious here. I for some reason feel the module we plug in line with the MAF for the Ram Air would be a bigger deal than the iDash to service advisors. I simply unplugged my iDash before going in so it was not in the way of them scanning and nobody said a word.

Good idea however the bolt cover up there is a different shape. Of course with modification you could make it work, but it would not fill the area the cover used to correctly. I really think they nailed the placement. It is just about level with your eyes while driving.

I think he has gotten better about it but the few pictures of examples I saw I wasnt overly impressed and this went with the CJM one. That and I couldn’t get a hold of him. He has gotten more caught up so he responds faster and I’ve heard he’s made the graft of the two parts look better too
