Put in a 240 amp alternator for the hell of it and now my battery after 4 months is charging into the red on 19 volts, what can I do and what problems could i run into?

I would start the truck and check the voltage with a real volmeter and if it truly is at 19 volts you will boil the water or liquid that is in whatever battery you are running and kill the batteries. Infact that will usually happen at anything over about 15.8 volts or so.

I would definitely verify with a volt meter. The if the reading is high, (above 15) the voltage regulator is probably bad!
