most "normal" batteries last three to four years
It would not be unusual to see two wires crimped to a single wire terminal. I have seen this many times on factory wire harnesses.

Better look at the smaller second wire coming off the ground
@tobyhd02 I didn't even think about that for some reason. Yeah I bet that is my issue.
My battery in my other truck lasted exactly one year I believe before it lost a cell in it. You are right, they don't make them like they used to.
replaced both batteries 3 years ago with Interstate brand, a little pricy but no issues whatsoever and their warranty is nation wide
