Can anyone shed some light on handling, or possible lack there of, of a duramax when driving on the beach(loose sand). I have been told different things from you shouldn't run a diesel on the beach because of it's weight to it will do fine on the sand. Any advise is appreciated.

I drive mine on the beach all the time no problems what so ever, by itself and towing a 9000lb Toyhauler. I do air down to 25lbs when I am on the sand, both truck and trailer. Now you can get away with out airing down if the sand is wet but as soon as it gets loose drop some tire pressure. :)

What size tires do you have? I know i have 285's, a heavy front bumper replacement, and i never had one issue when i went to the coast. I set my psi to 30 and i never had to put it into 4wd. I wouldn't worry man, plus your driving a Chevy :gearjamin
