I am looking for the best OB2 scanner for my needs.

Looking to be able to scan and get as much diagnostics as possible for the best price. Just want one for personal use, not really looking for software above LBZ as I do not plan on owning something newer than a LBZ. (Currently own a 02 LB7). Any help would be great.

Also, nice to meet you all. I am new to the forums here

Welcome aboard. I'll move your post for you in just a moment.

What is your price point? That makes a difference.

Most guys go with either the EDGE CTS3 or the Banks iDash for scanners/monitors.

You can go less expensive and get something like the Blue Driver or OBDLink MX+ too. Those are bluetooth connected and work off an app on your phone. I use the MX+ currently and have no complaints.

Id say $4-500. I like the CTS 3 and all but I would rather have something I could just plug in and run some data when need be. I already have analog gauges for boost, egt, fuel rail and fuel line after lift pump gauges so I dont really have a purpose to get a dash mounted CTS 3 as well.

Also if within budget having a software that is able to do injector tests and what not would be great.

mainly it varies between tpms relearn stuff and what other add ons it can use. just the basic one will do everything you really need. if you want tpms relearn for tires go for it. the blue tooth bt is nice since you aren't tethered to the obd2 port via cable.

don't buy it over Amazon as autel doesn't sell on Amazon those are either fakes or scams. I called autel and asked if they had an Amazon page. their answer caused me to purchase one through oreilly.

pretty much any of the 808 will work fine for basic stuff your going to need for diy stuff. it can do brakes injectors reductant testing etc.

Seems like we answered this last week ... Foxwell NT530 for GM which is about $170.

"I know this post is old, but I’ve done some serious digging into OBD2 scanners and landed on the YOUCANIC Full System Scanner. Why? It’s a total game-changer! It doesn’t just check the basics like engine, ABS, or airbags—it covers everything, including ADAS. Bonus points: it does active tests, requires zero subscriptions (yes, free for life), and the U.S.-based support team is 🔥. Oh, and it works on all car makes and is ridiculously easy to use.
