From the day I took delivery the badges just looked out of place.

Looks really good. I've been thinking of those for mine as well. There isn't any chrome anywhere else really, so they stand out.

Two questions -

1. Where did you find the tailgate "Sierra" badge in black?
2. How did you blackout the trim around the "GMC" emblems?

I used DupliColor spray, similar to Plastidip but has just the right amount of gloss.
careful masking to preserve the red accent in GMC and the 4.
worked very well, took a few hours, but worth it!
used headlight tint for the fender markers.
Got the window tint done last week, thats the only thing I didn't do myself.

Just a note here to be careful the first time you lover the tailgate steps the first time AND stand on them. The receiver hitch cover MAY foul with the bottom of the tailgate step!

Looks good with the black emblems especially on your red truck!!

You are correct Dave, clear only when not flexing the gate.
Thanks for the compliment

To the OP, looks great much better

The raised Sierra lettering can be found on Ebay too... painted ready to install if you don't want to paint your own...

I pulled the chrome on mine and went w vinyl instead... this was on a 1500
