how do i know if my block heater is working or not when its plugged in what can i check, i just picked up a 03 from Arizona, and the block heater cord was still wrapped up from factory and I live in Chicago, so i unraveled it to front ,but like i said how will i know its working

well not no way i know except plug her in for a few hours and then go out and start it....it should be fairly warm engine temp wise and ur heat should be fairly warm allready...thats how i figured mine out..lol..:drink im from michigan...so u should have a couple more cold days to test it out.

I have a new 08 and when i plug in it makes a humming sound and also when plugged in my glow plugs do not even come on and iam starting in -25 Alberta weather.

oh good point as well....fill your sig out too, that way we know what u got...but u will notice ur glow plug light will not stay on that long if at all.

Your glow plug light will not light up. If it was still wrapped up, it should work.

Unplug The Cord From The Block Heater And Plug The Male Into An Extension Cord And Check The Voltage On The Cord. Somtimes Its Just The Cord And Not The Heater. Then You Can Check Polarity On The Heater Itself.

where is the heater located
The heater plug in should be on your pssenger side battery by the firewall. should be zipp tied to the corrigated plastic tubing that is taped and covering the Batt+ and neg leads heading down towards your inner platic fender. i jsut found and realized i had one and spent prolly an hour undowin my inner fender to undo the plug in out out of the wiring harness and secure it to frame and out the front. just peek odwn in there it should be there.
