If you put the relay back in and it is not blowing, then the contacts in it are burnt and you need to replace the relay .... it is sticking.

 

Sounds like you have a short to ground after the blower motor. I believe the blower motor ground is through the resistor on that one.

 

I think that DuramaxBoy is right. They updated those resistores in 04 or 05 and they are common for shorting out. Easy to change under glove box.

 

it shuts off when the relay is removed...i tried a new relay and there was no change, it still runs when the truck is off....i took apart the dash and removed the climate control, un-plugged the two rear wire plugs, and the blower still runs....is there a vac operated switch? when i removed the blower fuse and the ac fuse from the panel inside the truck the blower still runs with no fuse...only shuts when relay is pulled...any ideas?

 

do i buy the resistor at the dealer? or do parts stores carry them
