I dropped my truck off at the dealership yesterday because I was pretty sure it had a blown head gasket. I get a call today from the service guy (who I know pretty good) and he said that both head gaskets are blown and one of the heads may need replacing due to a burnt spot on it. I don't know what he meant by that or where the spot was at. If this is the case, what do you think caused both gaskets to go and a possibly ruined head? He also said that once it gets torn down, if its bad enough that a GM rep has to come look at it then I'll need to come take the PPE tune out of it before they show up. Hopefully I'm not going to get screwed into having to pay for this. Any suggestions?

Thats what I plan on doing tomorrow evening after everyone besides the guy I know leaves the service area! I didn't plan on leaving it there yesterday or I would have taken it off before I went there. I'm just concearned that once its fixed, whatever caused them to blow is going to strike again at 100,001 miles.

I installed the MP and the Diamond Eye down pipe about two weeks ago. Head gasket blows right after that, go figure huh. It never got over 210 tho before I installed the MP, thats normal operating temp isn't it?

I might have some other issues then because I'm pretty sure mine runs right around 200-210 all the time. Could be a contributing factor to the HG failure on mine.

You think so? It seems to pull the tires down the road just fine, it never sounds or feels like its under any strain in town or on the highway.

TO much boost, and programmer causes them to fail. About 70% of the trucks I do head gaskets on have or have had programmers on them. If they already have the truck you are screwed. You really really should have removed the programmer before you brought it to them. GM has a new bulletin out, about programmers and if the cvn numbers dont match. They will decline the warrenty. Good luck.

The fan is definatley working, sounds like a trash truck roaring down the road from time to time when its cold. I guess when I get it back I'll have to keep an eye on the temp and see if its gotten any better since I've put the MP on. I haven't really been able to notice anything since I've put it on there because I've been fighting this head gasket issue every since then and trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I guess I'll see.
