Hello Everyone,

Mishimoto is proud to announce the release of our brand new line of products specifically designed for Duramax equipped trucks. Our company has been developing performance cooling products in the sport compact and domestic automotive world for years, and we have thousands of pleased customers. We recently turned our attention to diesel technology and were immediately impressed by the power potential of these trucks. Despite this power we were able to find numerous areas of potential improvement in the cooling department. Before I begin getting into the products we have developed for your Duramax, I would like to provide some background regarding our company and what we are all about.

Our company headquarters is located in New Castle, Delaware, where our team performs all design, engineering, sales, and marketing duties. Our office is filled with gear heads chasing the same goal - to provide the best possible products that will help you take your vehicle to the next level of performance. It’s rare to find a company that truly cares about customers like we do, and we take every recommendation, request, and concern very seriously. Feel free to contact me directly! Mishimoto’s involvement in the automotive industry dates back to 2003 and our business has continued to grow year after year. Today, we partner with many professional drivers and events. We are extremely proud of our full line of highly engineered and rigorously tested performance cooling products. Our facility features a modern office setting with an attached 17,500 sq. ft. garage and engineering studio. The robotic arm and 3-dimensional printer shown below are used for rapid prototyping in the design process of new products.





We use our in-house AWD DynoJet dynamometer, shown below, for rigorous testing of our products.

Directly to the heat source problem area, We're all chasing for an aux oil cooler kit that can handle the flow volume of the Dmax. Any work done along these lines yet?

Interesting! This is exactly why we are excited about joining the community. We thrive off the feedback we receive from enthusiasts groups. We have yet to do any testing or R&D for a direct fit auxiliary cooler. We do make direct fit oil cooler kits for sport compacts and domestics. This sounds like a fantastic idea. I will see if I can get the ball rolling on this.

As you can see the Mishimoto intercooler offers increased core volume and lower IATs (15% percent) while maintaining OEM pressure loss across the core.

Silicone coolant hoses in Red or Blue is interesting.

Item is described as polished aluminum, but the drop down menu shows color as Black. And, how does the wall thickness compare to stock?

Thanks for the comments! The pipes are polished aluminum, the drop down menu is for the color of the boots. We currently only offer black boots with these kits. The included pipes feature a .065" wall thickness.

Our pipe features a larger internal diameter which equates to less restriction and smoother airflow. We do not currently have a report which includes just this intercooler pipe. We do have a report for the entire kit which contains this pipe, the cold-side pipe and the Mishimoto intercooler. Check it out below!

“The Mishimoto unit showed a 15% (25*F) drop in pre-intercooled temperature as well as a 1-1.5 psi drop in pressure. The largest gains were seen with a full Mishimoto intercooler and piping kit installed on the truck.”

I like the look of the couplers, too bad just in black.

The site pic was missing for the cold side.
But pictured in the comparison pic above in the test results, that looks impressive. :thumb Lots of restrictions removed.

Like was said, if you guys develop an oil cooler kit it'll sell like hot cakes! That's the biggest heating issue for the dmax engine. And it gets progressively worse when you add larger and/or multiple turbos.

The stock oil cooler is just barely adequate for stock turbos and stock power levels. Much increase in heat generation (via increasing power) and its easy to see oil temps get out of hand.

A bolt on kit that dissipates some serious btu's would be a market first and you guys would have the jump on everyone else in the industry. Currently folks have to scrounge up parts from everywhere to piece together their own kits.

Thanks! The couplers are only offered in black at the moment. Would you recommend adding additional colors? We normally do blue and red as well.

The site should be updated soon with the images for the cold side!

This is great advice and I was discussing these coolers last week with a few folks here. We will be performing some R&D in the near future to see about kicking off a few projects.
