Hey fellas, I have an 09' 2500 CCSB 4wd. I was pulling a tree and broke my pass. CV in the outer boot. My question is... Can I separate the CV and leave the outer half in my wheel, and remove the half that bolts to the diff? Will this affect anything as for daily driving?

I'd like to not have my truck down while the new axle is on order... Thanks for the help guys!

Take it off so it doesn't spin when driving. Itwont hurt anything.as long as there is nothing down there spinninng around. Dont use4x4. And get a new oneon when you can.

Good deal, thanks guys. Also, with my lift, I have the axle spacer in there. Is that bolted to the diff, and the cv bolted the the spacer, or is there bolts going all the way through to the diff?
