Broken Guages/Speedo

My tach messed up a couple of weeks ago and my speedo messed up a couple of days ago. Both are back to normal as of now.

My speedometer works it way back after a month or so of in town driving. I don't think it is coming back now. I did find a guy back east that will fix it for $109, but with the amount of chevy's with this problem, I'd like to get the dealers to have to fix it. After all, it is an '05 w/68,000.

Depending on what goes wrong with the cluster, it is covered under a different part of the warranty. I remember reading this on another forum. You will need to read the warranty coverage that came with the vehicle.

When I talked to Chevy They told me To have it diagnosed, and that the cluster in my truck is no longer under warranty. I'm not going to pay a diagnostics fee for them to tell me in writing that it needs to be replaced, when they already told me it needed replaced when I went in on a recall. I know how fast I'm going off my RPM's so I'll hold out for a little while and if they don't recall it I'll send it to the guy in Connecticut.

does your odometer work? do you have a DIC and does it work? If it doesn't work, it should be covered under the emissions portion of the warranty.

My odometer works. What is the DIC?

Driver information center. Do you have steering wheel controls? It will display messages where your odometer is if you have problems with the truck that have messages instead of getting the general check engine light.

Just put my 03 in the shop today for this.

Yes I do have a DIC, but there are no problems in it. My only problem is my errattic speedo. I called chevy and tried to get them to warranty it through the Emmissions Warranty as posted on another thread. They wouldn't do it.
