is this just the egr starting to cause trouble.

My scanner said P0403 egr circuit control.

Id at least like to let a dealer look at it since its still under warranty, but was wondering if the aftermarket turbo back mufflered exhaust could be the cause of this code.

I got a feeling a blocker plate will need to be installed.
Will it throw a code if I install just the plate and dont use the finger stick or have a programmer to block it?

Also, could this cause a drop in mpg's or power?

I've never heard of an exhaust pushing that code out. If I were you I would just go ahead and block/delete your egr and say good riddens to it. Some trucks throw a code, some don't. I believe there is an rpo code that hints to whether or not it will, give me a minute to try to find that for you.

Edit: So supposedly if yours has the FE9 code on the sticker in the glove box, it is not supposed to throw a code..

I recently read that about the FE9 code, I'll have to check it out.

Im gonna call the dealer and have them check the code while the truck is still under warranty.

I'll wait till spring for the egr block and out of warranty.

Thanks.
