Drive it around the block.... done.

Why go through all the hassle of doing it on another day.

Do it while all your stuff is out, and ready to go.
I’m pretty sure I’d be able to put on 25-30 miles on the same day :grin2:

Bucket

To try to get out as much old fluid you can, a few has said you might get about 85%-90% changing the double drain method.
What I started doing after flushing about $120 down the toilet using transynd doing the double drain, I let my truck set for a couple of days up on 6” blocks, then removed the drain plug measured getting out 13 1/2 quarts, with the Allison deep pan, which should be around 75%, I had just did a drain and re-fill.

Drain your fluid into a measuring bucket, (pictured below) then you won’t have to be worried on how much to put back in.
As long as the Dex 6 is in decent shape with a pretty red color, I don’t think it’d be a problem.
If it’s pretty crappy and burnt, then maybe the double might be better choice.

Mines been changed 3 times (dropping the pan, not counting my double drain)
and I only have 84k miles, the inside of the pan and fluid has always looked very good.
Where did you get the bucket?

Lowe’s had the 5 gallon measured bucket.
Home Depot had a 10qt/2.5 gallon bucket.
I say had because who knows when they’ll change stock.
The stock Allison pan holds approx 7.5 qts on a normal drain and re-fill.
The deep Allison pan is around 9.5 qts on a normal drain and re-fill.

Most will always ask how much fluid, 'dunno;, this depends on how you go about this.
Measuring what you remove saves a lot of guessing on how much to put back in.
Then check the level when your all done.

I’ve found having the level when operating temps in the middle of the high and low hot hash marks.
Some like the level just above the low level hot hash mark.
The front tires on 6” blocks
Good luck and Have fun :wink2:
