Changed the fuel filter on my buddys 06 lbz duramax and cant get it to prime. Never had this happen before. When pumping it wont build up pressure and just barely squirts out a bit of diesel. I tried closing the screw to try to build up some pressure and it still wont. Checked all the o rings. But the WIF sensor wires had been torn right out of the sensor by previous owner(he just bought the truck), and the sensor is pretty rugged looking. Dont know if that has anything to do with it.

I would start by replacing the WIF Sensor. If it is cracked by the wires, it can leak air. I would also ensure the Filter's O-Ring is installed correctly. There is an O-Ring in the Primer. I have seen some kits out there to replace that 0-Ring. I do not recall an O-ring on the bleeder, when I had mine out. Is the filter tight enough? Is there possibly a double O-Ring on the WIF Sensor?

also check to see if you got all the old o-rings off some times they hang up and will not allow the new filter to seal

yea checked all that, but it feels like the two o-rings inside the pump button arent sealing up too well so maybe thats it. He just bought the truck two days ago, its got a 30 day warranty so there coming to pick it up today. I put the old fuel filter back on and let them deal with it. Thanks for the tips though
