Hi guys I am just wondering if I need to lubricate the gaskets on the fuel filter, and allison spin on filter when I replace them. You know how you rub oil on the oil filter gasket before you put it on. Do I need to do the same with the allison spin on filter, with I am assuming transmission fliud. Also on the fuel filter do I lubricate both the upper and lower gasket and assuming deisel fuel. Or do you just replace them dry.

i usually do that with both the fuel filter and oil filter but i don't think it is a must..just my thoughts

On the fuel filter I use vasoline on the inner gasket on top(small one). On the tranny, yes, I use a little tranny fluid.

Dont Forget To Take The Magnet On The Old Allison Filter Clean It And Put It On The New Filter......also If You Change The Allison When It Has Sit Overnight You Wont Lose As Much Fluid...just My 2 Pennies
