I just bought an 03 dmax and when i take off from a stop there is a slight hesitation and clunk (can't hear it) that comes from what seems to be the rear differential. Any ideas what it could be?
could be u-joints, the slip yolk needing to be greased or your transfercase if you have one. If you have a transfercase, look it over real good for leaks and check the fluid.
It could definitely be u-joints. I have a '03 and had to replace the front joint of the back shaft (I have a crew cab/long box and have a two piece drive shaft) twice. Seem to get about 2 years out of each one.
