Ok, so I know there are tons of threads on this obsolete/backordered TCM.... Has anyone found a good solution other than just waiting to see if GM ever decides to make these again? I've got a perfectly good truck that has been sitting idle 2 months now and no end in sight.

My truck is a 2012 2500HD Diesel and failed 2 months ago with code U0101, Service Stabillitrack message, etc. Classic TCM failure symptoms...

I've done all the research, talked to Dan's, etc. but the best I've come up with is that I have a dealer telling me that they somehow placed an order for me but have no ETA. A different dealer has told me that they aren't even able to place an order in the GM system because the part is obsolete and won't accept orders...So I'm not even confident that my supposed "order" is even real...

After 2 months of waiting, I'm not sure that I'm any closer to having a part or even being in any kind of backorder line. Seems like the line of dead trucks is growing each day...

I've seen some talk about repair places, but none of that sounded very solid to me. Has anyone come up with any better ideas than sitting around and waiting? What are we all supposed to do while our trucks sit dead? So frustrated...

Have you checked with Hicksville Auto Recyclers? They dismantle Duramax trucks and seems like they would have a used option... surely they can be reprogrammed to a different truck like an ECM can be

Just called them and no luck. I gave them my info in case they get any in. I've also done some pretty thorough searches of the national junkyard inventory and looks like the one's that are out there are wanting $4,000!

I'm sorry, but this is a $700 part and I can't justify spending probably 25% of the trucks value on this...

So aggravated that GM has abandoned us like this. I've heard that this isn't the first time they've done this either on prior model years...

I ordered one from thoroughbred diesel, but same thing $750.00 "GM's on B/O" I'm stuck in NC in an RV Park for work, and it'll soon be time to leave. with no end in site. I was quoted 3927.00 for used w/30 day guarantee...

The LML family seems to have a problem with their TCMs but at least verify that the TCM is getting power and ground and that the com system is intact and functioning. It's not ALWAYS the TCM, especially for the prices of those parts these days.

My 2012 TCM and PCM are being looked at now at autocomputerspecialist.com in Florida. I have had a conversation and emails with them. Hopefully, I will get it back before Thanksgiving, install them and update here.

I feel GM has failed us all badly. Even the dealership where I took it did not help or treat me well. I won't go into all that bs here. If anyone else has updated experiences with their repair from autocomputerspecialist.com, let me know how your modules and auto is doing please.

I would sincerely think so. However, I'm not an attorney and a lot of us have limited funds and time to look into it. I'd like to think someone on here or another website with come up with some ideas. My part comes back from Auto computers specialist Wednesday. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for reaching out

Well the repairs seem to work at least the truck drove well for the first 55 mi. As of about 6:00 p.m. here Thursday night, I got another TCM not communicating. So I've seen a lot of different YouTube's mentioning grounding and can bus and I'm not sure where to go from here.

If anyone else is looking, go here and get the part number, then search to see who has one. The model will depend on the year and equipment, 4WD, etc. I have no idea how good/bad these may be.
