So before we did any modifications, my family and I took this truck on a road trip for about 6 hours each way - bone stock. Our trip was from northern Ca. down hwy 5 to southern Ca. We loved the truck, but soon into the trip I had a ton of idea’s to help with the ride and handling of the truck. I started the modifications off with the list above. After the truck was done, we took it on another road trip without the faith wheel toy hauler. Both myself and my wife saw a big difference. The over-all ride was completely smoother, not so bone jarring when it went over bumps in the road. Around town it’s great. On our freeways we have those break points where the concrete meets and you get that very uncomfortable “thump thump thump” feel. Well, that’s also improved dramatically. The Toyo mud terrain tires are a bit louder than if I would have picked all terrains, but I need the muds for the grip when I pull my toy hauler into the sand when we camp so I don’t mind the noise.

Next on the install list:
Amp electric steps
Auto Meter Nexus gauges
PPE EGR delete
DPF removal
Fuel tank
Lift pump
Nicktane fuel filter
H.I.D. head & fog lights
On board compressor
Air horns

If you have any questions feel free to post a reply or PM me and I will be happy to help.

Thanks,
Nor-Cal Nick

Nice truck! Looking at your rear shocks, I probably installed mines the wrong way:booboo, cause my boots are on top. Correct me if I'm wrong.

MAN ! I love me a Dually, and that one is sweet !

Let me know if you find out where to find the HID's for the Fog Lights.

I didn't know it was legal to tint the windshield?

NICE TRUCK !

Thanks for the nice comments guys....:drink

Buck-
The RBP kit was great. Not bad at all. I have since taken the RBP off and installed a MBRP 5" w/DPF removed. If you want a RBP kit let me know.

I see you just stepped to a Duramax from a 6.0L. I had a 06 F250 6.0L also I just sold,

I loved that truck but these new LMM's really kick ass. With removing my DPF and running a PPE tuner I pulled my 40foot 5er loaded and still was keeping 14mpg not being light on the throttle:gearjamin

Yes it was. The Dunes are not as bad ass as what you have in SoCal but they are great for a short weekend trip. I hit Glamis when I have a week to spare.

Yea we go to glamis a lot. Been to pismo a couple of times. It seems everytime we go there is always someone stuck. All these guys get pissed when a 17 year old pulls them out with a bone stock chevy. It has happened more than once. You will definatly not be getting stuck with ur set up though.:rof

Yes I remember those days. When I was 17-19 out there you would pull a ton of people out and they would hook you up with a few bucks and a thank you. Now if you help someone they will sight you because the tow company's have the beach front rapped up for business.

I pulled the DPF and I am running the New closed AFE stg2 with a PPE tuner. I just received a EFI and I am working with a tuner to see if we can get more MPG. I will post what happens.
