Hi,

I randomly started monitoring oil pressure via my insight and notice at normal operating temp oil pressure is 16-17 at idle and about 40 doing 70-75. Is this normal? I have researched it and there seems to be a consensus that it is?

I am running Mobil 1 synthetic 5w40

TIA

Awesome thanks - where can I find the GM Specs for things? The anal retentive German in me craves for such detail...

I have a 7 binder set of factory service manuals for the race car so I am used to being able to just look stuff (torque specs, tolerances, etc) up when I need to.

factory service manual or possibly the dealership if they're feeling friendly. Might even show up in a decent service garage's system.

After I got and installed my Insight I was glad that my oil pressures were not as low as the factory gauge indicated!! Mine would only show about 25-30 psi at highway speeds the Insight is now showing right at 60 psi, much better!......
